The Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA) and the Wyoming Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (WIAAA) have partnered in serving as liaison to provide the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching class to assist in meeting the coaching of certification requirements for the state of Wyoming. The WHSAA believes its interscholastic athletic programs are an “extension of the classroom”. This NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course provides a unique student-centered curriculum for interscholastic teacher/coaches, assisting them in creating a healthy and age appropriate athletic experience that supports the educational mission of our schools. Trained WIAAA members will be instructing by using the blended approach in this five unit course. Instruction will be given for the first two units face to face and the remaining three units will be completed online. There will be a test at the end of each unit that must be completed before advancing to the next unit. There will also be a WHSAA state component covering the basic rules and regulations of the association. Classes will be posted on
the main page of our website when available. Should you need a class immediately,
there is an online option. However, it is our recommendation that you
take the blended approach whenever possible as the first two units will
create several meaningful and useful class discussions. Please contact
the WHSAA office for further information concerning the Fundamentals of
Coaching course.
