November 2011 Board Action

2nd Reading Item passed:

Rules 4.6.16-4.6.24 & 9.7.1-9.7.9 – This will increase game fees for officials by five dollars per contest next school year.

Rule 2.4.6 – This is a new rule that aligns our handbook with the sport specific rules books concerning concussions.

Rules 9.9.0 & 4.6.6.5 – This adds social media to our current rules on public criticism by officials of another official or coach.

Rule 4.5.5 – This also adds social media to our current rule about coaches making negative comments about officials to the media.

Rule 3.5.2 – This adds wording to our current student buy back program to close a loop hole that was abused last year.

Rules 7.14.56 & 7.14.57 – This clarifies that there can only be one relay team per school for each relay for Regional and State Track.

Rule 7.14.81 – This clarifies that a “no time” will be given at the State Indoor Track Meet to any athlete that does not have a current season recorded competition time or distance.

Rule 7.14.81.5 – This allows open 400 meter times to be used to determine 4 X 400 relay seeding times at the State Indoor Track Meet.

Approved the 2010-11 Financial Review.

Approved Carbon County School District #2’s Request to Add Golf for the 2012-13 School Year

Authorized the Commissioner and Legal Counsel to Proceed With the Building Project
